GGD is the collective noun for municipal health services. In the Netherlands we have 28 GGD’s that mostly have the following departments: Youth Care, Logaoedics, General Healthcare, Health Advancement and Epidemiology. In this case we are talking about GGD Region: Twente, which is one out of twelve provincial states of the Netherlands.

Getrud Vogel: “The digitized files are user-friendly and have mobile access anywhere you like. We are especially enthusiastic about I-FourC® JIM™, we are able to work in the same way as we were used to and the readability of the digitized file is great. With the latest version of mlCAS users do no longer have to log-in twice. We are definitely very pleased with this cooperation, in which all parties are adapted to each other.”

By choosing I-FourC JIM, the working method of the GGD is totally up-to-date. Now there are good technical capabilities to convert files to virtual files.

Important advantages of this switch are:

  • Files are anywhere, anytime and anyplace available.
  • Less administrative operations.
  • Less travel (time) for the youth care workers.
  • Files cannot get lost anymore.
  • It prevents a double registration(in the digital file and on paper).

Ideal cooperation

After a comprehensive selection between different software packages, GGD Twente has chosen for: mlCAS, fully managed by NetSourcing. NetSourcing is a firm that specializes in the technical implementation and the managing of applications in the healthcare sector. Beside youth care they also have extensive experiences with Home Care, Nursing homes, hospices and for instance mental health institutions. Getrud Vogel: “In mid-2010 NetSourcing brought us into contact with I-FourC. I always said; we will not digitize, because even our physical files where already not readable. But our school doctors have to operate on location and therefore need mobile accessibility to our files. The files have been copied 1:1 and we were positively surprised that they were incredibly good readable after all! Really great! In the spring of 2011, we have visited I-FourC to get a feeling to the company. After reporting our findings to the board, we could start with the kick-off. It took some effort to get support inside the organization, because one group of users was very skeptical about digital files. After a meeting with the users and I-FourC everybody became very enthusiastic! And that feeling has never gone away.”

Most important tip for other companies
Just keep working the way you are used to. On the screen, you will see the exact same as the physical file, even the smallest details.
